
Step 1Turn off vacuum cleaner and unplug power cord from wall. |
Step 2Lower handle into it's lowest position |
Step 3Turn vacuum over so lower side is up.Step 4Remove bottom plate by turning bottom plate latches outward. |

Step 5Remove belt from motor pulley.CAUTION: Belt pulleys and belt can become hot during normal use. Step 6Remove brush roll by pulling upward and slightly forward on brush roll.Some older models have a spring clip that holds brush roll in place. Release spring clip to remove brush roll. |
Step 7Slide new belt over brush roll. Align brush roll pulley and belt guide. Check on the end caps to see if they're marked with new and worn.If you've had your vacuum a while check for brush wear. If your vacuum is less a year old, install with a new brush roll. |

Step 8Stretch belt around motor pulley make sure lower side of belt is in belt guide. See diagram on bottom of vacuum.Step 9Rotate brush roll with your hand to make sure belt is seated properly. Make sure brush roll and belt turns freely.Make sure your brush roll turns free. If brush roll does not turn free, try to free up by removing hair or threads that may have wound around brush roll or belt pulley. A build up of old rubber, threads or hair could cause the belt to slip. If you cannot free brush roll replace brush roll and/or bearings and belt. |
Step 10Replace lower bottom plate and lock back in place with bottom plate latches. |
